The Thought of the Week
by Georgie Márquez-André

One Lifetime

LIFETIME, n. The time that life continues; duration of life.

ETERNITY, n. Duration or continuance without beginning or end.
(Definitions taken from Webster's 1828 Dictionary.)

FOREVER, adv. For a limitless time
(Definition taken from Merriam-Webster OnLine Dictionary.)

A good friend passed away last week.

I don't want to say that she died... because she was a Christian, a lover of Jesus, so as far as I'm concerned, she is now much more alive than I am.

Her death, at only 53, however, has stirred me up.

It has renewed my passion for living life to the fullest.

For appreciating every day... for appreciating, and caring for, our bodies.

If you have ever explored the different pages of my website... you will know that I am a firm believer in seeing our bodies as God's greatest gift. Thus, we will be held responsible for caring for them.

Are you overweight? Do you smoke?

Do you watch what you eat? Do you exercise? Do you take nutritional supplements?

There are many small steps we can all take to improve how we care for our bodies (I have some suggestions on my Products page).

Ultimately, you and you alone are responsible for your life.

Finally, I don't know most of you reading this column... I don't know what you believe, or don't believe... but I would like to challenge you. If today was your last day, and you were to die suddenly, unexpectedly, would that be a joyful event for you? Do you have the assurance that your life will go on... that indeed, you will never die, but that there is a forever waiting for you on the other side?

Christians believe that through the trans-dimensional encounter between God the Creator of all things, in the Person of Jesus, Yahweh incarnated, and an individual human, that individual can be guaranteed life everlasting. So think about it... and if you don't already know Him, ask God to reveal Himself to you, so that you will be able to face each day as a wonderful new opportunity, and death, as nothing more than graduation day.

Have a blessed week.

And, please, don't forget... the agencies that provide relief to those still in need, are still in need of YOUR help:

The Salvation Army, Operation Blessing, American Red Cross.
