ADVENTURE, n. An enterprize of hazard; a bold undertaking, in which hazards are to be encountered, and the issue is staked upon unforeseen events.
(Definitions from Webster's 1828 Dictionary.
)
This week's column is early, because tomorrow I leave town to go on an adventure!
I will be traveling to upstate New York to attend a leadership training camp. It is based on the concept of becoming a warrior, one ready to face anything. Of course, looking at the definition of adventure, as listed above, I can let fear, rather than anticipation lay a grip over my heart. However, I am confident that every positive, productive, growth resulting endeavor, involves both the unforseen and hazards. It is how we respond to these that make us stronger or break us.
So, because I am in the middle of preparations for departure, and focused on the week ahead, this week's column/newsletter is short. What a great time to catch up on previous columns. And next week I will let you all know how I survived!
Have a blessed week.
