RESPECT, v.t. To view or consider with some degree of reverence; to esteem as possessed of real worth.
I am amazed at how people can refuse to see the good in those they dislike. For example... I am a woman... I am a minority, Hispanic woman. If I was a Hispanic woman of the liberal persuasion, people on the left would see no wrong in anything I did. However, take a stand as a conservative individual who happens to belong to a minority group, and the left goes into hissy fits. If you have any doubts, look at what the left has done to Dr. Rice, an amazing intellect of a human being.
If Condoleezza Rice were part of a liberal, Democratic administration, she would be extolled as a role model. A gazillion organizations would line up to have her speak out on all sorts of issues affecting women in general, and African American women in particular. But... poor Condi... she has the guts to have a mind of her own, and to have decided that based on her brilliant mind, she believes in the conservative stands of the Republican party. And so now, she is a traitor, a "servant in the white man's house," an Aunt Jemima.
Never mind that there is no question that she is where she is because she deserves to be there.
But because the liberal left hates the values and world view he represents, they will never acknowledge the value of his appointments. So, we have African American liberals declaring President Clinton as "the first African American President."
Yep... the man who hired Amarosa, of Apprentice fame, to the White House, gets more respect in liberal circles than the man who appointed Dr. Condaleezza Rice and Colin Power (and many, many Hispanics) to powerful positions of international influence. Just out of curiosity... who do you think respects minorities more? Amazing!
