CELEBRATION, n. A distinguishing by ceremonies, or by marks of joy or respect. The week before Christmas.
I assume that most of the readers of this weekly column are Christian.
Two thousand years ago, a child was conceived, and history was changed forever. In that one moment in time, Yahweh, the Creator God who revealed Himself in the Tanak, the Jewish Scriptures we know as the Old Testament, cut through space and time.
In a transdimentional piercing of space and time, God became man.
God became incarnate... clothed in flesh. And so, this Christmas, celebrate... celebrate that moment in time when Jesus, God in the fleshed tabernacled with us. And don't shy away from the manger scenes, or from saying Merry Christmas to strangers.
For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given... In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us... behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. - Isaiah 9:6, John 1:1 and 10, Luke 2:10-11
Have a wonderful, blessed Christmas.
