by Georgie Márquez-André August 8, 2004 Feeling like an alien. Do you ever feel like an alien? Lately, it seems that the world around me has gone absolutely mad! People would rather believe lies than question their stands. And some I once thought were reasonable, are walking around full of hate and anger. Even Christians are attacking each other and not giving themselves the benefit of the doubt. When did insanity become the norm? The Bible tells us that there are principalities, and warfare happens all around us, even when we don't see it. What battles are being waged in our lives? What principalities have been aroused? In the end... it doesn't even matter. Behind every lie, behind every angry word, is the enemy of our souls. The one who comes to steal, kill, and destroy. And in the end, what really matters is what we do about it. And in this world of darkness, we are light, and in the midst of the battle, we are the warriors, and where it looks like defeat is coming, the Captain of the Host leads us to the ultimate victory. Many battles might have been lost, but the final one, the one that decides the war, was won a long time ago. On a hill outside the city of Jerusalem, on a wood cross. Next time you feel like an alien... remember that in the end... when it really matters... we win. Have a blessed week.
